The marine module is broken down into two parts, a classroom presentation and then a hands on workshop. Depending upon the size of your group, I can tailor the module to include one or both of these elements so we can have an instructor to trainee ratio of approx. 1:6
The classroom portion consists of an approximately 2 to 3 hour Powerpoint presentation and discussion. This presentation is intended to raise safety awareness and get the trainees talking about their experiences and solutions to the various safety related issues they've encountered in the field. Helping to minimize the risk of an insurance claim is also a primary focus of this presentation. Technique related suggestions are intended to help avoid damage and claims so proper framing, padding, venting, etc. are touched upon for that purpose. We also cover some heat tool related safety
Once the classroom presentation is complete, we then go out to a designated area of the facility where we will then go over the practical application of the presentation from setting up heat tools to preparing a vessel properly. Using your equipment and supplies, we will work in groups of up to 6 and install the shrink wrap cover from the beginning to end and will become familiar with proper venting, installing a zipper access door, final inspection of the cover, and how to perform a fire watch prior to leaving. The facility is responsible for providing the vessel and these details can be finalized when scheduling.
